Hosting365, one of the largest independent hosting providers in Ireland , today also becomes the first Irish independant hosting provider to become a full fledged member of RIPE .

RIPE is one of four Regional Internet Registries (RIR) that exist in the world today, providing allocation and registration services that support the operation of the Internet globally .

Stephen McCarron, chief executive of Hosting365 welcomes the newly acquired accreditation. "We are a pure technology company," he says. "We own our own servers and we now own our own IP space. When customers host with us they can be assured of the highest technical skills going. We don't resell space or lease on boxes in other jurisdictions. Becoming a member of RIPE means we are trustees of the Internet and can offer superior service and support to our customers."

RIPE's role is to ensure the fair distribution of global Internet resources in the European region required for the stable and reliable operation of the Internet. This includes the allocation of Internet (IP) address space, autonomous system numbers and the management of reverse domain name space.

"Becoming a member of RIPE was an arduous process but one which will allow us to achieve our ambition of becoming the leading hosting company in Ireland - including the tier one ISPs," says McCarron.
